RVR 5-2 Castleknock FT
We got 2016 off to a flyer but it wasn't without a scare 👻. We were out the traps quick and on the front foot from the off, knocking the ball around & looking dangerous. Our 1st came courtesy of a Dano Murphy pull back for Ronan Murtagh to lace one into the far top corner from 20 yards. Minutes later, the inspirational Mark O'Brien (not to be confused with the the Bieber loving one next to him) won a 50/50 in the middle of the pitch and burst through one on one with the keeper. Pressure is for tyres & out came a scoop finish of the highest order. Castleknock were back in it, just before HT and on level terms, early doors of the 2nd half. Conor Hurley made a big stop on his debut, with a fine reflex tap over the bar from a corner to stop things from being worse. Young Sean Boyd was thrown on up top and the new signing was involved in everything good during the last half hour. With 15 mins remaining he got to the by-line and his cut back was slammed home by the on coming John O'D to put us 3-2 up. Dano Murphy then joined the party in the final few minutes, bagging a brace after fine work from Sean and Big Ro. In the end it was a fine win and moves us 5 pts clear in Premier B, albeit with extra games played.
*A sign came to me this morning and I just knew JOD would score today
